METHODOLOGY

SHEPHERD takes up educational and developmental projects as tools to enable the rural communities for awareness component and action component of the outreach.  The programme schedule has three ordered modules.

Stage I
Initiation Visit by whole class Naturalization, familiarization of the people / place / route / transport.  Preparation for Stage II.
Stage II Live-in-Camp by whole class Live-in experience for 3 days, direct interaction, data collection & analysis, group formation, target fixing and designing an action plan.
Stage III Group Visits (Weekend) To carry forward to achieve the target guided by Subject Faculty & Extension Coordinators.

A class, of say 40 students, is divided into 8 groups of 5 each.  Each group zeros in on a specific target to be accomplished before they complete their degree.  In the process, each hamlet will have got a few of their chosen men, women and youth trained as village animators.
