Campus Ministry of St.Joseph's continues a century old tradition of providing pastoral care for students, and staff. As the nation's oldest catholic and Jesuit College, St Joseph's lives out St Ignatius's spirituality by ministering not only to Catholic students but also to those of other faiths. Campus Ministry challenges members of the college community to exercise their spirits as well as heart, intellect and body.
St Joseph's Jesuit mission calls students to integrate their faith and learning, encouraging them to share their gifts with all. Campus Ministry's primary mandate is to help students deepen their faith through worship, reflection and sevice. Campus Ministry also provieds opportunity to the staff, who educate and serve St Joseph's student body, worship and grow in their faith.
Counselling Center
Getting through college poses many difficult challenges. Many students experience stress due to the adjustments required by their studies and the multiple roles in their lives. Common issues that students worry about and are anxious or depressed about, are having relationship problems or under-achievement in their studies. Counselling is available for supportive or problem-solving assistance for academic, vocational, emotional, personal or social concerns.
Councellors help explore these issues and assist students to work toward achieving the goals they have set for themselves. The center provides St Joseph's students an opportunity to discuss, in a private and relaxed atmosphere, any personal, career, or academic concern. Many students benefit from meeting the counsellor at some point in their college experience. The Counsellor's Corner, the notice board, continues to attract and make the students think and reflect.
