Profile of the Department
B.Voc. (Software Development and System Administration) department was established in the year 2014. It is based on the scheme launched by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Skill Development. This programme gives opportunity for students to have multiple entry and multiple exit. The students can leave the programme with a Certificate /Diploma/Advanced Diploma/ B. Voc. Degree under the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). This programme in its curriculum incorporates specific job roles and their NOSs along with broad based General Education.
Highlights of the Programme
- Three year degree program with 40% general education component and 60% skill development component.
- Multiple entry and Multiple exit.
- Student can exit after one semester with Course Certificate. After completing one year with Diploma Certificate. After completing two years with an Advanced Diploma. After completing three years the students will get B. Voc. Degree.
- Industry partners from Software Sector are integral part of the curriculum design, assessment & evaluation of students.
Objectives
- To provide proper mix of skills relating to a job role and appropriate content of General Education.
- To ensure that the students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are prepared to work at each exit point of the program.
- To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements.
