The Department of Information Technology was bifurcated from the Department of
Computer Science in the year 2007. It offers programmes such as M.Sc. Computer Science
(M.Sc. CS), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Post Graduate Diploma in
Computer Science and Applications (PGDCSA). The Department is in the School of
Computing Sciences and has the autonomy to frame courses for its various programmes. It is
one of the biggest department in Shift-II comprising around 500 students and 13 faculty
members. All the faculty members have completed their Ph.D., Out of Thirteen faculty
members, Eight faculty members have received awards in various institutions. The
department offers various training programs for the students to make them industry-ready.
The Department has helped to place students in various MNCs. The students of the
Department have developed software applications to assist the IQAC in choosing electives
and student feedback. The Department has signed five MOUs with indust
