St. Joseph's College gave me education with creativity and above all the knowledge for good life and practice. Thank you fathers, brothers and teachers who gave me learning to become a good citizen of my country.

St. Joseph's College, Trichinopoly, has played a great part in the development of higher education in Southern India. Many of its former alumni who have taken the Honours Course in Physics from that college, has subsequently been research students in my laboratory and achieved conspicuous success.

All glory to the institution which has grown in popularity and usefulness and has contributed in great measure to the spread of education in South India. More than anything, the example of self-sacrifice by the Rev. Fathers belonging to the mission set before the students - the plain living, high thinking and purposeful perseverance that they embody in the persons - will be a lession for all educational and other institutions in this country.

It is a great honour, but more than that, it is a great pleasure. My whole heart throbs with joy when I see work like this-teachers and boys with obvious mutual love shining in their faces.
